Post OH NO!!!!!!

I cannot beleive I did this. Today with my tailgait down, I backed into a light pole. The damage is not what I would consider "major" but I am sick to my stomach. I damaged my baby!
Anyone have any experience with this happening to them? if so how did it go? anyone know the price of a new tailgate? Thanks

youch, that sucks. I had a 95 F-150 that I had to buy I tailgate for. It cost 450.00 from ford. Hell with that. I went to a junk yard ang got one for 125.00, I got lucky they had my color. If they didnt it would have cost me alot to get it painted. Have you tried a body shop? If it is minor they might be able to fix it for less.

Hey Firehawk,

That really sucks. We all do stuff like that sometimes.Chances of finding a good gate for a 2000 at a wrecker are probably slim to not a hope in hell.Sorry.Go to a body shop. They can do amazing things sometimes. They could probably just replace the tailgate skins and match the paint perfectly because the truck is so new.Best of luck to you.Let me know how you make out.

I think any year tailgate would fit as long as its the same body style. And to be on the safe side i would look for a 99 and up tailgate. but im pretty sure they would work.
