Question toolbox suggestions

Anybody have any recommendations for bed toolboxes? I'd like one for the '04 screw i'll have soon. No, not for tools. Just for the occasional luggage or camping gear.

Bueller? Bueller?

Okay, maybe no one has any recommendations! But are there any pictures out there with behind-the-cab tool boxes? I haven't seen any 04 screws with a toolbox

The box on a screw is small enough. You may want to consider a toneau???

whatever you get, make sure its diamond plate stainless steel--its well worth the extra 50 or so bucks. I have a white painted Delta toolbox that i won in a raffle and i keep it clean and waxed regularly, but its still rusting a little bit around the edges.

I have seen a box that mounts into the hitch. Its actually a platform that the box is mounted to.

Toolbox

I have a UWS toolbox, (United Welding Services), out of Perry, FLA.
http://www.americantruckvan.com/unit...ices_link.html

It's aluminum diamond plate, and really strong. When I said I wanted a good solid toolbox, the salesman replied by jumping up on the box on the showroom floor and standing on the lid. Nice and strong.

Mine is a regular profile box, but has shallow box depth so I can still have some space for hauling under the box. They also have low profile boxes and full size ones.

Does anyone have a good source for the United Welding (UWS) toolboxes? They don't appear to have a distributor in So. California.

I did a search on Google for United Welding tool box and found quite a few links. Maybe one of them will point you to a local shop.

UWS Toolbox

lrudduck,

I have posted 2 pics of the UWS toolbox mounted in the bed of the truck in my gallery. URL is below.

Sorry about the quality, but I took them at nite in the garage. Maybe they will give you an idea of what it looks like, tho.

Here's a shot of my Weatherguard Model #127-5 on my '04 SuperCab with the 6.5' bed. They build a great tool box with a very durable finish, but are quite expensive.

And I thought my rearward vision was bad before I installed the box.
Now I can't see for s#!t.....!!!

There are some other views in my gallery.

The Weather Guard is arguably the highest quality box, but like Clem says, quite expensive. There are lid clearance issues on late model F-150s because of the way the rear window juts out. I don't know if the 2004 window is like that, but if it is, a Weather Guard has adjustable lifts so the lid won't come in contact with the rear window.
