does anybody know where would be the best (cheapest?) place to get a set of OEM fender flares for an expy? i know , i know... i have this post in the expy forum but i got no replies. ford wants around $285 UNPAINTED. is this about right or can i do better? salvage yard maybe?

 

I'd definately try the local junk yards but, you will probably end up having to get them off of two seperate vehicles (as most vehicles in there have either been creamed in the front or rear causing some damage to one or both of the sets).

You might also try calling around to some of the auto-body shops in the area to see if they have some 'wrecks' sitting on the ground that they might be willing to sell you some parts of those...

If you can develop a good relationship with one of those body shops, they can probably find you aftermarket flares that will look just like the OEMs and will paint them at minimal cost.
