Only thing I can think of that you can't get on XLT that is on the Lariat is - Leather.
(Oh yea, and Grey Poupon)

The easiest way to tell is to look at the fender tag. If it doesn't say XL or XLT it's either a Lariat or somebody REALLY loaded up a Work Model.

(Or it could be a Lightning, slumming)

Well not exactly true. There are a few more options than that. I think the full list is; the signal mirrors, leather trim, "Lariat signature" floor mats, the XLT and Lariat have different rear bumpers, and the Lariat pin strip. The reason why I asked instead of looking closer at the truck was because it was driving off in the opposite direction. I only got a few seconds look as it turned in front of me. But I seriously was thinking about flipping a U and driving after it.

Freezer, as far as I know, the Lariat is the only model that has the keypad in the door handle, that's the way it was when I purchased my 00 (Sept 99)

Freezer – The "Lariat" decal has been moved to the end of the pinstripe instead of in the middle. On my truck, supercab, that puts it on the back door. Maybe it was missing on the one you saw?

I know they moved the "Lariat" sticker. My 99 Lariat has the word on the rear door, not the front door like 97s-98s. However I could see the whole sticker from front fender to rear door, and no "Lariat" That is my mystery.

Question 200 Lariat Question

Ok, maybe someone can shed some light here. I saw a truck yesterday that I'm trying to figure out what it exactly was. It was a 2000 green supercab. I think it was a Lariat, but I'm not sure. First off, it had the pin strip just like my Lariat, however no where along the side did it have the word "Lariat" in the pin strip. Second, I know it was a 2000 because it has the keypad on the drivers door. Now can you get the keypad on XLT models, or was this a Lariat without the word "Lariat" on it? I'm just trying to figure out what this truck was, because from the exterior it was exactly like mine except it was 2000 and it did not have two-tone paint.

P.S. Umm, this subject was supposed to read 2000 Lariart not 200.

Keypad, pinstripping but, no Lariat logo?

I hate to say this Freezer but, we may have a 'poser' out there!

('Lariat' is on the bed of my truck.)

When I ordered my truck (10/99), you could not get the door keypad on the XLT, only the lariat. Much to my dismay, I had the keypad on my old Sable, and it was the greatest, can't lock your keys in the car. Moreover, you could always leave your keys in the car and not have to carry them around, great for playing golf!

Raoul, the only thing I can conclude is it was a 2000 Lariat, but the owner did not like the Lariat word and removed that part of the sticker, but left the rest of the pin strip. I just wish I would have had just 20 more seconds to look at the vehicle, then I would know exactly what it was. Oh well.

What's Ford doing to us?
I was in my Lariat sitting at a light in the center lane when two new F150's pulled up on either side of me. Both had the pinstripping, the one on the left said 'Moeiat', the right one said 'Curlyiat'!

The official name for the key pad entry is,REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY W/ DRIVER'S SIDE KEYPAD, it falls under Safety/Security in Vehicle Equipment listing.
Make sure your looking up a Lariat vehicle standard equipment list at no extra charge.GOOD LUCK...

Nope, not in this stupid book. And Ford just sent this to me last week. I should also mention I had requested one for the F250SD's and they sent me this F150 book instead! Thanks Ford. I digress: Under Safety and Security it only lists five items and the closest one to it is "remote keyless entry system", period, no mention of a keypad. But none the less this keyless entry option is standard on lariat optional on XLT. Maybe it is also with the key pad? Or jsut a lousy glossy Ad book!

Whoop Whoop Whoop! Soitanly not!

Question

Anybody come up with any more information on this? I would love to add the keypad to the driver side door. As one poster put it, it's great if you lock your keys in the car!
Thanks.

I have the Lariat with keypad and hardly ever use it because it seems to set off the dealer-installed alarm sometimes. But haven't brought it back yet, either. It's pretty nice security in case you DO lock the keys inside, though, and I use it once in a great while, like if I don't have the keys and have to get into the truck anyway for something.
