Cool Flaireside vs Styleside

Which body style do you guys prefer and why?
Flairside seems to me more sporty, but the style side seems to have a bigger bed. I'm undecided on which one to buy. Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I went with the styleside for the larger capacity. I personally, really do not like the small tail lights on the flaireside.

Either one though is just fine to me.

All I can say is do a search on this site for flareside and styleside. I know there has been multiple discussions on this topic within the last 6 months.

Well personally I like the stylesides better, especially on the 4x4's. It just looks more manly to me I guess. But I do like the flaresides, my girlfriend has one and it looks great. I guess it's just what looks good in your eyes. Good luck with your choice.

I am completely ambivalent. I got the styleside because I liked the bed size. However, I find that similar models as my own in the flareside are starting to look awful good to me!

Good luck, you can't go wrong either way.

Flares rule!!!!!!!!!

I can't seem to find the exact spec's on the cubic feet difference between the Flare and Style but its not as much as one might think. A buddy at work has a Style and we measured the inside of the bed of his and then my Flare. From what I can remember my Flare only lost 7"'s of with at the tailgate and cab. The new design(as opposed to the old design, a square box) of the Flare allows for increased cubic feet.

'00 Expedition XLT, Silver w/Dark graphite interior, 5.4L, Stull Billet Grill and some other stuff. All in all she'll stay stock. Ok, maybe a Flowmaster 50 series soon.

I like the flareside but I got the style side because its cheaper and lighter than the flareside and its all metal the flare is half metal the bed pat and the outside is fiberglass.

I prefer the Flareside.
I got the styleside because:

1)Flareside $858
2)'Sleeper' look
3)Less likely to get ticket(pass yourself off as a working stiff)
4)Wife said no.

I love my Flareside!!! You really do not sacrifice much cargo space with the Flareside and with the exterior panels being a composite you do not have to worry about door dings. I had an old lady hit my truck at the gas station in the Flareside portion pretty hard and all that was left as a reminder was some of the paint from her car. I buffed it out and you cannot even tell. I am sure that a Styleside would have dented. The steps also come in very handy when loading and tying down cargo or when you are washing the truck.

It costs a little more but I get compliments all of the time. Has anyone noticed that the new Chevy/GMC stepside looks like an almost exact copy of the F-150's???

What is that saying about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery?

If I remember correctly, I read somewhere (dealership brochure while I was waiting for loose exhaust to be fixed I think) that the flareside had a better cargo load rating that the stylside, yet the styleside had a better tow rating than the flare side. Each with a difference of only a few hundred pounds.

Needlass to say that I went with a flareside because that is all they sold the Lightnings with. If the styleside made me less likely to hit a moose, I would have gone with that though.

I like em both, they are all great looking trucks, but I am partial to the styleside.

When your 5'7", the steps on the Flareside are a big help. I can step up and reach anything in the middle of the bed, so can the kids! I wasn't happy about the additional cost, but I wouldn't trade for anything now. Biggest complaint is that you can't see the corners of the bumper from the mirrors, makes backing up to a trailer a bit more of a challenge!

I have the Flairside and would not change that. But, there are more body parts available for the Styleside. I keep looking for fender flares and almost all the ads say "does not fit stepside or flareside".
