Angry Warranty = rebuilt parts

I took my truck in today for a new CD player. The one they installed was also defective. I talked to the parts man and he said all replacement CDs are rebuilt and they would rebuild mine and give it to someone else. Another is now on order for me. SAY IT AIN'T SO--- My truck was new and I am not sure I want a rebuilt CD--------comments please

I have heard (although I don't know if it is true) that even a new truck can have a re-furbished radio in it when it comes from the factory. IMHO, if it looks new, has a warranty, and works like it is supposed to, it really doesn't matter(to me anyway). I do understand where you're coming from, though.

Good Luck!

I just had my HU replaced under warranty. The service guy told me that when the repair shop gets them in they fix them and put them right back on the shelf, ready to send out when someone else's unit craps out on them.

Oh great, so now domestic means this?

Designed in Detroit, built in Mexico, assembled in Canada, parts from Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam, shipped to Europe, painted in Guatemala, sold in Chicago, delivered in Dallas.. rebuilt in New Mexico..

In all actuality, a refurbished electronics product can be even better than a brand new one. IF THEY RUN IT THROUGH TESTING PROPERLY.

For example, if you buy a refurb. computer.. you've just bought a computer that had a minor problem at some point but that has been corrected. Its now been run through more thorough testing than a brand new one on the shelf has.

Like he said, if you've got the same warranty.. what difference does it make?
