Question pioneer & sony XM compatability

I had a pioneer XM ready head unit and bought a pioneer XM receiver to go with it. Between the time I ordered the XM receiver and actually received it (EBay) I swapped out the pioneer head unit for a sony XM ready one.

My question is will the pioneer XM receiver work with my XM ready sony head unit or am I going to have to put it back on EBay and get a sony model?

Sorry Jeff.... in a word "no". I don't think they will work together. I looked into a nearly identical set up with my XM as well.

I wanted a Sony deck and had a Pioneer XM tuner. I was told by several people that they were not compatible with eachother.

I'm not sure which Pioneer tuner you have but, if you have the GEX-FM903XM tuner, I have the modulator equipment for sale if you would be interested in running via FM modulator so that you can keep both pieces of equipment and still have XM for minimal $.

Good Luck and let me know if you're interested.

Thanks for the info and the offer. I already listed the Pioneer Xm tuner on EBay; I'd rather not use the FM modulator since you lose some sound quality.
