Angry in dash DVD player question

I just bought a new DVD player and you can't play DVD's without the parking brake on. I was wondering if there was any way around this, so that i can play them whenever i want. Any information would be helpful. Thanks

What kind do you have.......do you have to do any sort of sequence for the DVD to come on?????

By law your not supposed to have a monitor in front of the drivers view, that is why the parking brake wire is used, that way the car must be stopped to use the DVD.

Easy fix, find the wire they used to tag the parking brake and determine the polarity, should be 12v negative, either disconnect the wire and permantly ground it, or run a switch to that wire and throw a switched ground to it.

That should take care of it,

GOOD LUCK>
