Removing factory head unit?

I have the install kit as well as the two little tools to remove the factory head unit. I tried using the tools to remove the unit, but it does not seem like it is budging a bit. Am I being too gentle, or is there another trick that I'm missing? Thanks.

When you insert the 2 wires into each side, you need to push them in until you hear a click, then gently pull out away from the headunit as you at the same time pull the radio out towards you.

I had to get ugly with my stock unit to get it out. Even with the DIN tools. Mine was just in there really tight. Be persistent and it will come out. Good luck.

Don't forget to remove the trim ring around the stereo first. Kept trying to get mine out with the tools and it would start, then click back. DOH! removed the trim ring and it slipped right out.

Make sure not to push the tools too far in - just to the first click. If you go too far, it will also keep it from coming out.

By the way, if you don't know how to remove the trim around the radio, push the vents on each side of the radio to point towards each other, grab the edge of the trim around each vent (next to the radio) and pull out.
