Hope this helps . . . !

Thanks a bunch

swampview,

thanks a lot for checking that out. I'll put in a call to my dealer and see what happens.

Anybody else follow up as yet?

Just got my new in dash CD player from my dealer. Took them
5 days to get the new one. Took less than two seconds to install.
Paid me for two CD's that got cooked. You can hear a fan running
when you turn the key on..They told me any more problems, please call. No hassels. Fine service.

That's very good news!

I hope I get the same kind of service.

What dealer did you use bobby? Do you have a phone number for them so that I can have my dealer call them if questions?

I'm out of warranty and therefore screwed.

I could replace the part myself at my cost, but I'll bet the part is not cheap at all, since it's a whole new unit.

I really would like to know if this fixes the problem. My CD player gets really hot in the winter when the heat is turned on. I have had the message CD HOT before and then I can't use my CD player until it has cooled off (really a pain in the a$$ when I am 1 hour into a 10 hour drive). I have 6 months until the warranty expires, so hopefully I can get this resolved.

Took the truck into the dealer to have them check the CD player on Monday(10/1). Got the truck back yesterday with a big hole in the dash. The service manager advised they sent the radio to California for 'Repairs'???? Apparently a firm in California is the lone certified repair facility for Ford radios. He said it would be 4 - 6 weeks before it is returned!!!! What could they possibly do to repair this? Bigger heat sinks?

4 - 6 weeks without a radio/clock....I'm going to miss it.

I'll submit and update when I hear anything.

Anyone else here have there's sent out for repairs instead of replacement?

What dealer

Hey MN2001F-150,
What dealer is providing this outstanding service for you
I had my HU repaired by the repair service from radiosandmore. They turned it around in 5 days. Maybe this dealer should use them.

My dealer is Tousley Ford in White Bear Lake.

Your radio was repaired for this 'heat' issue? What did they do for you?

It's been nearly a month and I finally received the 'new' radio. I was there when they installed it and noticed the small fan unit on top. Played a CD for about 20 minutes and when I ejected it, it was as cool or cooler then when I put it in!!! If anyone is getting the run around with this, I told them they could either begin replacing warped CD's or replace the radio - whichever they think would be cheapest.....

MN2001F-150, Sorry I didn't answer this before now. I had a final amp. circuit go out. They replaced the chip and next day Fedex'd it. It was out of my dash for about 8 days.

Hi I am posting to get help with my 2006 Ford F-150 Crew Cab, radio went out recently after problems with battery. I have 70,000 miles on this truck, and no previous problems with the radio/CD player until now. I have replaced the battery and the radio still is not working. Any suggestions? It is NOT under warranty anymore as far as I know..unless this is covered beyond the 36,000 mile basic coverage. Thanks.

Have you checked the fuse?

You may want to start a new thread rather than use one from a decade ago.
