Antenna ground.

I have no idea how to ground a cb antenna properly. It never mattered with my cheap uniden, but my galaxy dx 88 HL will soon be fixed and it puts out... a lot.
I'm making mirror mounts for the old swing away style mirrors and I'm using either 4' firesticks on springs or 5' steel whips from radioshack http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2102661
I know the firesticks will be just far enough apart to work pretty good, not sure about the steel whips, may only hook one up and use the other for looks.
My biggest concern is how to properly ground either of these antenna.
Any help is appreciated.

On mine I just ran a wire from one of the bolts on the antenna mount to a bolt on the frame and it worked just fine.

So if the antenna is mounted on the body of the truck it is already grounded?
Or is a better ground necessary.

It should be grounded if its attatched to the body, but you might get better reception with a ground to the frame.

I took a piece of 12ga wire and an crimp on eyelet on both ends of the wire with a stainless screw/nut and mouted it to my antenna mount and then attached it to my bed with a stainless sheet metal screw. My reception/SWR was night and day after doing this also make sure you shrink tube both ends to keep moisture out of the wire.
