Ok so I thought I'd chime in and ask a question too, I have a 04 Screw and want to know how much SD I would need to do my whole truck "the right way" I am going to revamp my system at the end of the year and want everything to be right, so how much would you suggest?

Also what do y'all like better Second Skin, or Raamit ?

Dont forget that the door has 2 metal frame layers and also the backside of the plastic door card which ALL need to be covered to get the results you want. So 3 layers times 4 doors = a lot of deadener needed. Its not worth spending the money if you're gonna half-*** it because you wont see results and then its money wasted. Theres really no cheap way out.

Raam mat to me is arguably one of the best out there. Like mSall150 said for his truck it took about 60 sqft just to do the doors and back so I would suggest about 150. It took about 200 to my 250 but I covered every square inch. Are you looking into getting like top of the line deadner?

Do any of you guys believe we need to put any MLV (like Luxury Liner Pro) over the vibration dampners (Damplifer, BXT 60, etc.)? Questioning if we need to kill vibration induced noises more than eliminate outside intrusion noise?

I ask because I thought you only need to apply deadener to only parts of the frame that would have vibration potential and cover the rest with a MLV product. Guess if the deadener has enough barrier to eliminate enough of the outside noises if covering the whole door.

I never noticed any noise or vibration coming from the roof until after I did it. But trust me, it made my 12w6 louder/clearer sounding, cancelled all wind noise. Not to mention without looking out the window, you have no idea if it is raining or not LOL. Overall just like everything else, but more.

And for Oneshot I would go to Second Skin audio and buy the 36 sqft of Damplifier Pro. Worth every penny. I do agree with the Stinger Road kill being amazing, but it is very expensive. I will have to say though that it is worth looking into. But if you are looking into saving some money go with the Second Skin.

Yes, the Stinger stuff is pricey, but I had a buddy that worked for them. They are in Clearwater, Fl *right down the road* so he took care of it.

I would get the pro. If I remember correctly, isnt it much thicker than the regular and has a thicker foil layer?

Yeah Marc, you have experieced first hadn how you end up using way more than anticipated. In all, I think I have around 100 in my truck, without the floor being done yet. It has around 60sqft of eDead, 20 - 30 sqft of dynamat extreme and 36sqft of Stinger Road Kill. More Road kill and some overkill yet to come. Waiting on new substage...

I dont do the layer on the door card, but I do a solid piece across the inner skin. I dont cut everything out like everyone else.

If you buy thicker material, you use less material/less labor. I used thin stuff in my wifes Expy and ended up having to do 3 layers to the one of the Road Kill product.

I want to experiment with this. I have heard great things about the Luxury Liner Pro and I can get the "Overkill" product from Stinger as well. I would do that on the inside of the door panel but still do inner and outer skins with the mass adding material.

I have heard that it and Dynamat Extreme are pretty close. I thougth Dynamat Extreme and Road Kill were close, so I am sure it is a good product. Also important is its ability to stay bonded to the vehicle, which I remember SS products being the best in.

I hope this helped, to the OP, good luck, this is one of my favorit mods I have done to my truck...

From reviews that I have heard, Road kill blows dynamat extreme out of the water. Yet both are pretty pricey. This is why I recommend SS products because there customer service is unbeatable. There products are affordable and work wonders. I also agree that this is the best mod I have done to my truck.

I am not looking to spend 200+ on only 30 sq feet just because it's thicker. Stuff is way over priced for what it is. Even the cheap stuff.

I got a 36 pack of dynomat extreme on ebay for I think like 90 bucks. In all honesty that would be a great way to save money. If you are on a budget I would go for this.

When you get a chance, I would absolutely get some on the door card. I did just the metal door frame at first and while it did make a difference, I immediately noticed plastic panel buzzing as soon as I put 200 watts on my mids. Deaden then door card and voila, nice clean midbass.

And what new substage could this be? Possibly the same as the substage I'm waiting on?

No I completely agree, I was looking for some on ebay and I couldn't find any for some reason. I remember my friend telling me that stuff is so cheap because it doesn't some heat requirement I think its like 150 degrees. So unless you live in a state were it gets really hot then I wouldnt get it.
