cd/cass interchangability 98' and other years?

cd/cass interchangability 98' and other years?
i have a 98' f-150. what other year dual media (cd/casst.) players will for certain fit in my dash. i've been told that there was a slight change from 98 to 99. is this true?

I got the same problem.
I bought a 2001 cd/cas combo, but it won't fit in the 99 dash without butchering it.
Just doesn't slide back in far enough.
I'm guessing I'll have to go with the cas and cd changer(under the seat).
Might be better anyhow, that is, if the wire harness isn't too much trouble to install.
