Haha very true. Thats really about the cheapest your going to get with quality components. Don't get anything but a viair compressor, most people use the 380c with a 3 gallon or 5 gallon tank. The Hornblasters kit is really the best deal out there IMO

there are a lot of cheaper ways to get air horns than the kits you will find on the internet. go to your local trucking parts and supply house and get you a twin horn for an 18 wheeler there about 40 bucks, order your compressor and tank off the net you dont really have to have anything massive i have a 1 gallon tank and a little small viar compressor kit that is for air lockers on off road trucks it runs them just fine for a good 40 sec with 1/4 inch air line. get your electric air valve from a site that sells airbags like airbagit.com there not expensive like 15 20 dollars the most expensive thing will be the compressor. and you will also need 2 switches and 2 12v relays if you plan to connect them to your factory horn button and leave your factory horn in for dot inspections and be able to switch them on and off.

You can do it that way too, thats actually how I did mine. You have to know everything you need to get though. The kits are just easier for people that don't have a lot of knowledge on the subject.

thats true but you only learn from doing it. i knew nothing about these things but my wife wanted them on her f250 so she could get peoples attention when she went to flip them off after they cut her off so i had to learn lol. she has a road rage problem.

i forgot to mention if you go the routs that i described above you will have to make all of your own brackets.

and heres a link of another thread on this https://www.f150online.com/forums/ot...tall-pics.html

You get what you pay for. If you haven't already learned this, you should.

Why not look for a big rig (IE 18 wheeler) horn instead?

I got my horns from Seige Engineering on ebay, hornblasters is good too, but a little pricey. Viair is the only compressor I would run (380 here). I have a 3gal tank too. I did not buy a kit, instead I pieced it together as I got money and learned by buying cheap parts in the beginning and ended up burning those things up and moved to the nicer pieces (ie Viair, lol)

Screw a train horn. Get a ferry horn. They will get anyones attention. Just might have a hard time getting it to fit under the hood.
