Finally started my install

I started buying stuff a while back, but it has been too dang cold to do anything...We had some 80 degree weather this past week, so I tore into her!

Truck is a 2003 F250 7.3L CC.

Items being installed:
Pioneer AVIC F90BT
KnuKonceptz Wiring
JL HD 600/4
(2) JL 500/1v2
Hertz MLK2
Hertz HCX570
(2) JL 13TW53
160 sq ft Second Skin Damplifier Pro

I am currently running wires and determining layout of hardware. I've made a couple changes in my install along the way, and cause myself to run out of speaker wire.....

I will post more this weekend as I should have some more done!

Yeah. I still have 60+ sq ft of Damp Pro left. I just haven't done the doors yet. I have been told they take about 12 ft each?

I may end up buying some more as I want to get some weight on the panels and I will probably need more LLP as well...

It was too nice today to work on my truck....I decided to go to the range and unload some of my 'rare' bullets. You know, 115 grain 9mm FMJ? lol....stupid panic buyers. Any of you guys gun guys? Is ammo as hard to get as it is here elsewhere?

*ANYWHO*

Good news is my additional order of speaker wire came in today, so I should be able to finish my layout tomorrow and start cutting the LLP. Now the next big date is 3/23!! Knu should have more ground distros! The bastards have been out since at least November.

Anyone have any bright ideas on running GPS and SAT radio antenna wires? I usually bring in through the 3rd brake light, but my Leer is kind of making that a pain....I am open to suggestions as I want them off my dash.

Just make sure theres no metal covering them and they can be put underneath panels in the vehicle.

Oh and dont plug back in those gray plugs under where the seats should be. Those are the seatbelt minders, I HATE THOSE THINGS!

And since you are putting a reverse cam in, The reverse wire to auto switch the screen is Black/Pink (+) at the Fusebox.

Don't you dare be feeding me bad info!! The gray plugs give me all my power and control for my seats! The only reason I was able to get this truck is because I showed the wife it had seat warmers......PLUS I figured a big audio guru like yourself would know you can turn the minders off via a fancy voodoo trick where you unlock the door 37 times while unbuckling and rebuckling your seat belt 18 times, and cycling the ignition 79 times; all in 6 seconds....not 'exact' numbers, but the real quantities are listed in the truck's manual.

I did yank the fuse box and find the reverse wire the other day!

Fords normally use a grey 2 pin plug for the seatbelt. I know the trick but dont feel like wasting 25-30 min to do it on every seat. So, I just always reach under and yank.

****UPDATE****

I got 98% of the wire ran today. I would have finished it, but once again, due to design changes I didn't have enough 4ga.....Good thing Knu is in Ohio and I get my orders in 2 days!!

I also finalized my hardware layout. Enjoy the pics.....and as always I am open to comments.

Lookin good. Is that duct tape or deadener you used to hold the wires down? You may want to look into adhesive mounts with zip ties...very cheap and effective, and will keep all the sticky crap off the wires in case you ever to to adjust/re-use them elsewhere. You can get them on partsexpress super cheap...and they are located in Ohio too I believe.

It is actually a butyl tape I found at the hardware store. So far it has come up fine(as I have said previously I have changed the plans) but I do realize it hasn't sat on there for any more than a few days at a time. I don't expect to have any reason to move anything. I don't have a habit of changing components out. I have had the same setup in my Lightning for over 6 years or so.

What is everyone using these days to secure their subs to their boxes?
