Question Rubber Antenna for 4x4 SCrew

Anyone have an idea for this one. I have the fixed steel antenna that makes an awful noise each time I enter or leave the garage. Can I get a shorter antenna or maybe a rubber one that doesn't degrade my raido signal?

Thanks in advance.

Here are a couple of options, get a rubber one from Ford, they came on Y2K F150s etc or, what some of the Super Duty folks have done to keep from hitting the top of the garage door, they have gone to Wal Mart and bought a universal replacement antenna that is shorter. All I have seen said reception was still fine. Hope this helps.

Stay away from the billet shorties, unless you have a show truck. They have no spring to them and the first time they get bumped, they are bent. I constantly had to
straighten mine from careless,or malicious passersby. I finally got sick of
doing that once a week so I bought a rubber one at autozone. Which ever ant. you decide on,LUBRICATE THE THREADS!! When I went to take the billet off,the adapter snapped off in the base, and I had to buy a new one. I was
very happy that Ford put an ant. plug on the base, thought I would have to pull the radio out to replace it. The antenna I got
has excellent reception and was only about 7 dollars.,,,,,,,98
