Your best bet is Rec.Audio.Car which you can view from www.deja.com or from any NNTP news server.
It'll have about two to three hundred new posts per day on just about any topic.

www.elitecaraudio.com is very popular and fun, but a lot is "brand" oriented. If you really want to learn, go to www.carsound.com and learn from the best in the industry. It's an forum like this one, but you also get replies from industry leaders like David Navone and Fishman Rivera. If you've never heard of them, pick up a copy of CarSound Magazine.
www.sounddomain.com is the biggest, but alot of kids on it.... www.elitecaraudio.com is my favorite, alot of shop owners,so as jlaird said there is some brand bias...good luck
