I have an Eclipse single CD head unit. Actually I'm on my second one. First one was replaced under warranty. I hear a lot of people rave about Eclipse but my experience with the head unit isn't good. The CD's skip when hitting bumbs and the radio reception is extremely weak. Traveled through Houston last week and the scanner would only pick up two stations. Houston has gillions of stations. There are better units on the market.

 

AHAB, The Alpine DVD player does have an Optical output that you can add an Alpine Dolby Digital surround processor to give you 5.1 sound. I've not added that, and I'm not sure if I will or not. But if you want 5.1 sound, there is a way to get it.

Thanks for the compliments on my system. I'll have new pics to post by the first of next week. My Expy goes in the shop tomorrow & thursday to have Rear LCD's installed in the headrests.
