Hot Factory CD Player
Tim A four years ago had it right on the nail. The "868" single CD, and dual media CD/Tape radios overheat. He is also right about the 3.5 hours. I drive twice a week on a four hour trip and just before I get there I see "CD TOO HOT" and it pops out, but FM still works fine.
Actually yes. Just go to your dealership and make an appointment. A contractor (hired by Ford I presume) will come out and swap your stock unit for a fan-cooled unit (identical otherwise)
I'll take about 5 minutes and total cost to you: 0.00
. They won't let you keep yours of course because they have to send it to Ford but you get a new unit which will play CDs hours on end without interruption and no more "CD HOT" message.
