Question Shorter Antennas

I have a 99 F150 and need a shorter antenna (one that doesn't protrude past the top of the cab). Anybody have any good sources for one?

I tried to check out those billet antennas made by Trenz, but their web site isn't fully operational. What do they run?

I just wacked mine off with a hacksaw and fashioned the ball at the top out of lead. A little black paint and it looks like OEM.

Not sure why Ford pays so much attention to building these trucks so that they will fit it most garages and then sticks the antenna a foot over the cab. I don't think you get that much better reception anyway!

I was just at my local "Auto Zone" last night and they had loads of different styles of replacement antennas, including shorter ones and telescopic styles.
