Cool Bluapunkt In-Dash 5 Disk Changer.

I am considering getting one of these and of course a new receiver to control it.
(Both fit together in our double din dashes)

Any opinions on this or Blaupunkt products in general?

Blaupunkt is great, I've always found the products to work, last and sound extremely well.

You might want to recheck that fit though, I don't think these will fit without cutting out some brackets in the dash.

I know that Blaupunkt is the factory head unit in some Italian sports cars. Don't remember if it was Ferrari or Porche.

Pioneer has a similar product but it is a six disc version. I think with a little creativity both could b fit in the dash.

My roommate has had good luck with 2 blaupunkt cd players, but I think you should consider Nakamichi. If you want a tape/cd combo, you could get the TD-45z or TD-35z tape deck, and get the MB-70 6 disc in-dash changer. They supposedly are hard to beat for sound quality (most likely better than blaupunkt), and the green illumination would match your dash (unless you have the blue dash lights). Check them out at www.nakamichi.com. I just bought the CD-45z cd player, but I haven't installed it yet. I know you're a member on SoundDomain, so just check out all the positive posts regarding the CD-45z. If I were you, I would definitely go with nak.

Wink

How much $$ for the Pioneer and the Nak ?
I'm looking at $428.00 from Crutchfield which Norton's here in Columbia I'm sure can beat by at least $50.00 or so.

The nakamichi td-45z tape deck and mb-70 changer have list prices of $350 and $550, respectively, but I know you could get them for much cheaper. The list price on the cd-45z is $450, and I bought it at a local shop for $330.

Question

I'd like to know how you are going to get them to fit in your dash. The opening in the dash is only a din and a half. With all this double din talk I'm starting to think that I got jipped. No two dins will fit in my dash!

red97 you are correct, I pointed out the same thing in the first response to this posting. You will have to do some serious modifications (cutting, etc) to get this to fit.

I am getting the Pioneer in dash changer (PD6) and a Pioneer 700R installed in my F250 Super Duty on Tuesday 2/15. The opening is a double din but behind the scenes there will need to be some cutting. I tried to get the PD6 from www.vandaproducts.com for $309 but they did not have any left. So I went to www.discountcarstereo.com and got it for $359.

I just put a blapunkt alaska in my 97 and very happy with it! great sound and fit! and it looks 100% better than the stock unit! and it matches my dash lightds perfect. I never bought a blaupunkt before, but took a chance and glad i did. The only down fall was the display is hard to read, but blapunkt is sending me a new face plate(new deseign) and the are letting me keep the old one as a spare. paid $280.00 (with shipping) from crutchfield and everything was included! They even gave me a thummer steering wheel remote for free. just my 2 cents worth on blaupunkt......

Well I got my stuff (mentioned above) installed and it works great. I think the install could have been a little cleaner, but I definitely could not have done it myself.
