Problems with Clarion Head units?
I have a clarion, i got it about 2 weeks ago and already it has had a power spike on me twice. Its a simple fix all i have to do if press a reset button, but that erases all my preset stations and cd naming titles. Its a good unit except i cant keep reseting it once a week. Just wondering if anyone else has a clarion and are having problems with it? Im going to exchange my unit for another head, probably a kenwood which are looking very nice.

I just bought a Clarion DRX755x (or something like that). It's a $270 model and I hope it doesn't mess up like that. I'll keep ya posted.
I'll hook it up this weekend and go from there. I had planned on connecting an amp to it but it's got 6 pre-outs and I can only find an amp that will accept 5. I could daisychain 2 amps but those suckers cost $$$.

Just an update:
I went back to the place I got it and decided that I wanted to stick with Clarion, so they just put a new unit in and it hasnt failed me since.
When I did have the malfunctioning unit in both times it spiked I did the same thing that might have made it spike. I listened to it without the engine running, then turned off the unit and took off the face. Later on I returned and the whole unit was powerless. Maybe it was just coincidence that both times I happened to be doing the same thing or it might have been some bug the clarions have who knows.
