Opinions please?
My second installment (the first is in Bedliners) in my "opinions please" saga. I had my Pioneer DEH-P3000 head unit installed at Best Buy, where it was purchased. They did a nice job, I am happy with the sound, and the installer was very polite. When I turned on my lights the other night. I noticed that on the temp control mixture **** (the one that has the blue to red color on it), a small spot of the blue was scraped off. Thinking it was dirt or lint, I tried to rub it and found that the area had actually been slightly punched in! Not actually punctured, but a small indentation which scraped off the color. Now, it is only a small indentation, and it doesn't affect the operation of the A/C or heater at all. But I do know the only way to fix it is to replace that entire control head. And I'm sure that it would be difficult at best to expect Best Buy to pay for that repair, since it is so small (and since they probably would say "how do you know WE did it?"). Do you think that I should go in and make a stink about it or just let it go? Thanks!!

If you are convinced the damage took place on their watch, bring it up and insist that things be made right. This is what insurance (theirs) is for. Good luck and let us know.

I wouldn't let Best Buy touch it if it was my baby.

Can you touch it up? Otherwise you have to live with it. If it bugs ya, bug them. If you are tolerant of the things that make your vehicle unique to you then live with it. If not maybe they'll compromise with a discount on your tune system.

As I see it you can't prove they did it. You can only prove that you did not notice it untill after their work was completed. If you yell loud enough (and I mean loud since you have no legal position) they may take care of it as a matter of customer satisfaction. This means several visits, letters to, and a lot of research to determine who to yell at. and in the end if they hold fast and do not want to repair it you can't do a thing about it. I say go in for a visit, talk to the manager first, before anyone else, tell him/her the problem. tell them you don't want to be a pain but they need to do something. If they offer to fix, you're good to go. if they fight and argue and tell you you're not getting any help. you're S.O.L.. Post your results on f150online and we'll know whether to go to Best Buy in the future or if we should boycot them. good luck.
