No, Ford is incorrect. If the Rem start is ACTIVATED then the similar key will work.

What are the odds that someone would have similar key to mine? They did say it would have to be cut exactly the same, though.....

Ya, if I can have your truck....

Thats easy as hell to take. I can have that truck gone in 3. Hit the activation wire, itll start. Then cut the brake and ground a few wires. Step on your wheel to break the interlock. And poof its mine.

I had a feeling you were going to say something like that. These jackass that installed my alarm, were either going to steal it or setting it up to get stolen. Now I have to get it installed all over again. Anyway, is behind the guage good area? Is that easy to dismantle(for a theif)??

Im telling you. Behind and to the left of the lightswitch. Ive done a few there and it takes about 15 min to get back there. Plus, you have to disassemble most of the dash to get back there. Im betting on noone ever finding it...

P.S. most installers will do that. You really have to work to find an installer that will work that hard to hide it.

Ive never had a vehicle stolen...

Ive always tuned to 30. What would the reason be for 33? Just curious and wondering if I should do the same from now on.

Theres better... That spot is PERFECT! Its hard as hell to get to. But open enough to get the wires where they need to be fast.

What does a kill switch do? What is the purpose of it?

Its in case someone is working on the truck. You turn the switch off and you can no longer Rem Start the truck. (I dont use them)

So all it is for is disabling the Rem start? Does it play a part with anything with the security?
