Please Help with CB PA System

Hey guys, I have my Cobra 19 all setup. I bought this PA Speaker so I could take advantage of the PA feature on my Radio. Tell me If I got this right, I took the two wires coming off the Speaker and wired them to a 3.5 mm Jack, and plugged it into the PA output...this is all I have to do right??? Well, its not working, but the weird thing is, I plugged into my Blackberry, and it will play music from that...so I'm stumped!!

Are you getting power to your cb radio? Do you have the volume down and your mic gain up? Are you sure you have power to the PA jack when you engage it?

I am gonna ask the stupid obvious question-did you have the cb set to PA?
Make sure cb is on
make sure set to PA
if it doesnt work then there is a wiring issue-is the plug you used the one the manual for the cb says it uses(plug may fit but may still be wrong-has to be the right plug)-also does the polarity on the plug matter to match the speaker, you may have the + and - mixed up
if the above doesnt work then recheck your wiring from the cb to the speaker-loose connection maybe?

Running the RadioShack 50W fine. Like MmmBuckles said, make sure the wires arent touching. Try switching the wires, you might have + and - mixed up.

You need an amplified microphone to make the PA system work properly.

Sorry, but you do NOT need a power mic, the stock mic will work fine. I used an Astatic 636L noise cancelling mic and it works fine... but a Cobra 19 is the lowest on the totem.

Let me rephrase my statement. You need an amplified microphone in order for the PA system to be loud as it's designed to work.

Yesh. Mine works fine though. I had my cab loaded with friends and we got into an argument with a little red Ford Ranger across the parking lot at Publix. For like 20 mins people were walking to/from their vehicles hearing two guys swearing and threatening eachother over loudspeakers!

Also, later on we got stuck behind s bus full of Mexicans so we continued to play "La Bamba" over the PA. Little did we expect, they all started dancing!!!

I put mine on the drivers side under the front grille pointing into the lower valnce. I mounted the base onto the frame and to do this I had to remove that lower rubber air duct Ford had plastic-riveted on the bumper
