ok well i just installed my code ca671 today from kcautosound and absolutly love it but i dont really like how offtem my truck honks now, twice for lock, once for unlock, once for start......really i would preffer it didnt honk ever except for when the alarm gets set off, is this possible? i dont have a siren hooked up but one was included, do i need to hook up the siren and disconect the horn wire? or is there a way to set it so it doesnt honk all the time?

I'd hit Travis up on that one. The CA671 is the new unit. I'd say you're the first to have it. Travis has been absolutely buried with work. I talked to him Christmas Eve and he was telling me he's been working from 7am to almost 3 am every day. Almost 20 hours. He installs locally in Kansas City and if someone has a garage to use he'll be there to install whatever the hour. The man is a working machine. He usually can't get to emails till the late hours. I look at the times of me emails from him and they are like 2am to even 4am in the morning. Don't know how he does it or even how long he can keep it up.

Sorry for the delay. I've been working from 7am in the morning till sometimes 2/3am in the morning. Very long days.

I need you to check a setting on the programming. I am wondering if you have the 2nd Step Unlocking turned on somehow. To check this:

Go into programming mode and go to the section that makes the horn honk 5 times when pressing the program button. Then press the OPT button on the transmitter until you get 10 horn honks. Make sure the LED is OFF. If it is on then press the lock button once and the LED will turn OFF. See if that works.

SILENT ARMING/DISARMING

Go into programming mode and go to the section that makes the horn honk 5 times when pressing the program button. Then press the OPT button on the transmitter until you get 11 horn honks. Press the lock button and the LED should be flashing only one time. You have just selected to be able to arm/disarm the alarm silently by holding the lock or unlock buttons on the transmitter for 2 seconds. I like doing it this way because I can have the choice to arm it quietly or with a honk.

ok.....well with the 10 honks the led flashed either once or twice and i beleive once made it arm/disarm silently without holding but then pressing opt again for 11 honks there was no 11 honks just one long one, but thats ok because i got it to lock silently but it is still taking 2 unlocks to unlock it, i tryed 9 honks to see if that was an led on or off but it flashed too so i didnt mess with it, maybe you had a typo or something....
