hello everyone! maybe someone can help me out here. i've got an 04 f150 and i'll be driving alone and suddenly my stereo goes on and off not just lose sound but power totally goes out...then the wipers come on by themselves. sometimes the radio comes back on sometimes not. after i restart the truck everything is back to normal. it's not a HUGE problem because int he last 30,000 miles it's only done it 3 times. but it's still a little scarey if i'm going to keep the truck. anyone else had this problem? maybe there's a module that need replaced that both wipers and stereo are plugged into? what do y'all think?

 

Yipes, sounds like just the sort of electrical goblins you really don't want to be seeing right now. I'd take it to the dealership and have it checked out, especially if you have any kind of a warranty left on the truck. Sounds like some sort of grounding issue to me. Automotive elecrtical can be a nightmare, especially things like this that are so intermittent they're hard to test. Is there anything you canb do to get the radio to turn back on after it goes off? How about the wipers? Do they continue to run until you shut the truck off or do they quit? I'm not too familiar with the '04 trucks, do you have radio buttons on your steering wheel?--DIY
