Pull 12 volts from 2007 XL

I need to install my Ham Radio back into my new Truck 2007 F-150 XL
where is the best place to pull the power from. I can pull it directly
from the battery. But before I do that I wanted to get some other
ideas. The radio will draw up to 15 amps when transmitting.
On my 97 F-150 there was a main distribution unit on the firewall
but I dont see one on this truck. I do see what looks like
a metal box with some large connectors coming out which
is attached to the firewall.

Pull directly from the battery. It will be clean power. I would also suggest grounding to the battery.

Battery Hook up

After looking through the engine compartment and not
seeing a distribution block anymore. I guess the best way is
direct connection to the battery

The distribution blocks can produce alot of noise and hash in your radio. The battery acts as a capacitor and "filters" the power if you will. Most times it will eliminate ingnition noise by using the battery as your power source. Personally I would use good quality 10AWG wire for the power leads. 12AWG at minimum.

You could tap a fuse if you want. Probably not the best option for this application, but it would work.
