Anyone here install a CB in their 06 f150? I got my radio and want to install it hopefully this weekend. Can you share what and how you installed your radio?
Thanks much,
Don

Could you provide information such as the trim level of the truck, so we know what options you have open for placement of the CB

I have an 2006 F150 XLT Super-crew 4x4. I will be installing a Cobra Classic 29 DEJ model. I want to install a permanent firestick to the bed behind my rear window.

Thanks,
Don

I have a Cobra 29 LTD. Wondering if anyone has mounted this or a similar style/size radio in their truck. I have an 05 Scab with floor shift 4x4. I would also like to know where you guys are mounting your antennas and which ones you are using.

I have the same radio, except I had mine bumped up to 50 watts. I'm mounting mine just below the little slot cuby hole. I will be temporarily be using a Wilson (Lil will) for now.

i have a 97 2wd XLT and inslalled my combra with the screws and mounting hangers below my radio and AC controls. i am not sure what the newer models look like, but mine is just low enough to let my cup holders slide out, and high enough that my walky cord hanging on the side does not hit the floor. i really like it there because it is out of the way and at the right angle to where i have direct view of the screen and controls. one thing i would recomend is going to a local truck stop and buy a 10$ external speaker. they come with there own wire thats plugs in directly to the back or ur CB, and provides a much better hearing when u have the windows down. i have a single cab and mounted mine the same way with the screws into the plastic behind my center console. As for anteenes i have dual 3' fiberglass whips on right angle mounts to the sides of my tool chest.

hope this helps!

I have a Uniden Grant mounted at the front of the center console in my F350 KR. (full size 40ch with SSB, not as small as your Cobra) I found a sliding bracket at a local Flying J that I could put inside the cubby at the front of the console. Watch the SWRs placing the antenna near the cab. If it does not pass high enough over the top you won't get good transmission ranges either. Because I haul some high trailers, my horse trailer for example, I mounted my antenna in the hood channel. That also makes it easy to jump out and pop it off quickly if I have to get somewhere with low clearance, such as a parking garage.
