My System

I wanted to upgrade my stock system in the 05 Screw. I went to the local Custom Stero Shop told them, "I want a System that sounded incredibly clear, that had enough bass to equal the clarity with out bothering the neighbors."

$1350.00 later........ They fitted my truck with 2 Rockford amps, Sony door speakers, front and rear, and a 8" Punch series 2 sub in a custom box. All the wiring and I was able to keep the stock deck, for the factory look.

*The first Rockford amp was model P 4004. 4 channel amp wich powered the
Sony x-plod xs-5680 6x8 door speakers.

*The second amp was Rockford model p 2002. 2 channel amp which powered
the Rockford Punch series 2, 8" sub in a custom box that fit perfectly
under the driver side rear seat.

What an incredible sounding stero system. It was very clear even at high volume and the bass was a perfect match with out being over powering. They even hid the amps by mounting them to the cab, behind the back of the rear seats.

I am posting this here for 2 reasons. The first is to talk about everyones systems and the other is, only because it fits an 04 to 06 screw. I know its not the classifides sorry, but if anyone is interested I am selling the above for $675.00.

Why the hell would you go out and spend $1350 on this "incredible" system, and then sell it right away? Seems like a croc of chit to me.

Well, somebody certainly got jabbed pretty good.

RF P4004: $240

RF P2002: $160

Sony XS-V680 $100

Sony XS-V680 $100

Punch S2 8": $90

Total from Crutchfield, priced off the web, for same pieces NEW: $690

btw, if you can't beat those prices locally, you ain't trying...

oh yeah, $25 worth of MDF for a box...that makes the system worth $1350 (?)

Now, selling used equipment at 70% of retail is usually a good buy and a good price for the seller...which makes the equipment worth $483 without the box...

And the box? I don't know what I'd pay for a used hunk of wood and carpet, I'd rather have something well built that I put together myself. I don't think I could trust somebody who gets $660 for a wiring job and box to make an enclosure that would handle that massive 8" of bass power...

I was wondering about that too... I think even $100 (new)for Xplod speakers is pretty generous. Nonetheless, thanks to everyone here. Had a good laugh!

A $600 box and wiring job? And I thought I was going to make it good by charging $150 a box and seat lift for the box that I design/build for our trucks to fit two 12"s

This is mean, but in the fun of things I can't help it...

Anyone interested in a slightly used set of floor mats... They are grey, slightly scuffed, and I'll let em go for $85. Anyone? Anyone?

Thanks Bartak, I'd hate to say this, but I've had it since August :o . I got them both off eBay for like $120. The first upper grille I was sent was damaged, so it was sent back. The second wasn't the right one. By the time I got the third one, it was too cold outside to put them on, so about a month ago it was warm enough to do things outside, and we were bored, so we put it on. And yes, I think that the truck looks a million times better with it on.
