Scanner Users?

I'm curious as to how many of y'all are using police scanners in your vehicles. With digital encryption and scrambling, can you actually hear anything of value?

Yes, I did a search...nothing new there. This is one type of entertainment/technology that has changed significantly in the last couple years, so I'm looking for updated info.

TIA,

OnB

Thanks for bringing this up. I was going to start looking for a place to mount one. I guess it wouldn't be worth it.

digital

There are scanners out there now that do just about everything you need, the mutual aid fire companies in my area where i volunteer firefight are all digital. Myself I dont have a new scanner yet as they are a bit pricey, but I have a UNIDEN BEARCAT 780 that handles my county which is analog trunking. Hope this helps you
