My official audio system thread.

Sorry, didn't know what to call this thread. Anyway, just wanted to talk about my system to someone who can appreciate it (cause I can't talk to the wife, she don't understand).

What it consist of:

Alpine IVA-D310
2 pair of Focal Utopia 165w
2 Zapco Ref 350.2
Viper d2500.1
2 TREO SSi 10.22 subs (in a custom box w/ a LMI 2.5" seat lift)
1/0 Big 3 upgrade
Sq Ft after Sq Ft of Second Skin damplifier

First, that's right, I did fit 3 amps behind my rear seat back. That was no easy chore. I did a couple months of comparing physical size of amps (along w/ their specs) to get what I needed.

Second, I don't mean to blast LMI, but the seat lift didn't exactly fit just right and their instructions were hard to follow (maybe just me). The lift might have been designed to fit perfect in an 04, but not in my 05. That or they had the parts mislabeled. At any cost, they need to get a 05 and make sure all parts are trimmed to fit right.

To keep this thread somewhat short, the sound is amazing!!! I still need to tweak it a bit, but overall I love it!

Also, I know all this means nothing w/o pics. I will add pics to my gallery this weekend. Thanks for listening (reading).

I didnt have any problems with my seat lifter from LMI, it fit just fine. Instruction a bit difficult, but if you do a search there are pics.

I was going to tweak it with the on board processor and see how that goes. Maybe down the road i will get the pxa-h701 but that is $350-$500 (wow) and I've spent enough already. Unfortunately, that is one thing the wife understands, me spending money on the truck.

I'm thinking I might have a second look at it this weekend. I'll check the search function and see if that helps me out.

WHen you take pics can you possible take pics of where you connected the wires for the Big 3. Im having trouble and basically nervous in messing with my alternator wires.

Thanx

PS When you do end up getting the pax-701 make sure you USE the optical out. It brings the sound to another level then just the regular rca cables.

I have one of those pxah701, and you also have to purchase the screen for it if you cannot access it through your hu. The screen is another 2-250.

Sounds Cool

My wife has a greater appreciation for mine after hearing the results, and will atleast pretend to care when I start talking geek. I would add an EQ of some kind it will give your speakers and amps even better performance and allow a lot of fine tuning. While I like your set up I ditched the whole car stereo all together. My setup wasn't cheap but it solved a lot of problems in one feld swoop. See some of my chaos in my gallery.

Well, I have some pics of the amps mounted and the big 3 upgrade, but for some reason the site isn't letting me add pics to my gallery.

Pics added to my gallery

I have a few pics added to my gallery of the amps installed, the Big 3 upgrade and sound dampening on the doors.

Audio System

I'll add more of the LMI seat lift, subs and sub box, HU, etc. later today.

Nice

Had a chance to look at your pics. It looks great. Nice clean install. Like the big wire. I also ran a ton of 1/0 guage. I could run a minimall ;-) Let us know how the stereo handles music when you get a chance to take it out for a spin and stretch its legs.
