Linking IPOD to Pioneer deck?
Linking IPOD to Pioneer deck?
Hey guys,
I have a quick question.
I have a pioneer deh 7600 deck and i have the pioneer xm radio setup.
Yesterday i tried hooking up my IPOD shuffle via a stereophone plug to RCAs into the aux rcs inputs in the back of the deck. I turned on the aux feature, but my ipod will not feed sound, but for some reason it picks up my XM radio on the aux and XM feature. Will this way of wiring them up not work, or do i need more pieces, or simply doing something wrong
? I figured this way would give better sound quality versus fm modulator.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I have not had any Pioneer decks with a built in Aux in, mine have all had to have an IP Bus connection to a RCA gizmo that I use...
If you really want to get an iPod in your Car with a Pioneer deck, so long as its made in the last few years you really should look into the Pioneer iPod adaptor. Part number IB100 or something similar. You can actually use your head unit or remote if you have one to control the iPod and see what songs and playlists your listening to... all thile the iPod is out of sight and charging. Thats my next purchase after my system in in my new truck.
I sell and install this kind of stuff so if you want one of these I think I can get them around $75... Then again its like $85 shipped on eBay
OOPS! My bad, I see your using an iPod shuffle... Different situation... Now all I can say is to be sure thats an AUX input your using and not an output. The RCA gizmo is like $20 shipped off eBay as well....
