OK so I got the prep harness the other day and am planning on installing it today or tomorrow. I will try to take pictures for everyone to share also. Can you guys verify the correct wiring scheme for me?

Yellow (IHF/Mute) --> Violet (Prep Harness/Mute)
Orange (IHF/Audio+) --> Black (Prep Harness/Audio+)
Blue (IHF/Audio-) --> Red (Prep Harness/Audio-)
Red (IHF/VBATT) --> Red/Yellow (Prep Harness/Run-Acc)
Black (IHF/Ground) --> Black/Green (Prep Harness/Ground)
Green (IHF/Ignition) --> Green/Yellow (Stock Harness/Ignition)

The only part I am confused about is the power. Does the VBATT wire from the IHF go to the RUN/ACC wire from the prep harness? Or is it the Ignition wire from the IHF go to the Ignition wire on the stock harness?

Please help me - I'm Confusled!

Thanks

OK all. Well I hooked up the IHF using the prep harness today and something isnt right.

I was a little confused as to the power connections (above post) so I tried a few things which I thought would work.

1. Spliced all of the appropriate connections (above post)
2. Connected the IHF VBATT (red) and Ignition (green) to the prep harness RUN/ACC (red/yellow) wires.

That seem to switch the IHF on/off based on the ignition switch. The unit now in fact powers on with the ignition and the radio displays "phone" when the unit is invoked. However I hear NO audio out of the speakers.

I am going to check my connections again. Just thought I would post a play-by-play. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Back again. So I think the power connections are alright. The problem seems to be the audio. For some reason the in-line audio connections arent correct, or something serious is wrong. When I connect the external speaker the system is audible just fine. When I disconnect the external speaker and use the stereo system I cannot hear anything.

After I memorized the voice commands I connected the stereo speakers and told the system to EXIT (even though I could not hear the voice prompts over the speakers). The systems exited just like I said. This tells me that the system is hooked up properly but for some reason the stereo speakers are not working...

Any thoughts?

Well it seems that all my previous posts were in vain. After more thoughtful troubleshooting I was able to solve my issue. The smaller molex connector (12-pin) in the head unit was not properly secured. A quick tighten solved the problem and now my system is working just fine. I did a few quick tests and am very pleased with the sound quality. There does seem to be one remaining issue though. For some reason every time I turn on the car and power up the IHF1000 the system will not automatically pair/connect to the phone. Even though I previously paired the phone and the system. I have to go into the phone's bluetooth configuration, delete the paired device, and repair them in order to establish a correct connection. This very well might be normal functionality of the phone I am using (Motorola MPx220).

I will keep everyone informed as time progresses. Thanks again to all for your invaluable help.
