Question Deus/Dupuis - Amp & Distribution Block Question

Guys,

I did a little search on this topic but could not find anything I was looking for.

First question:
Can I mount an amp on top of the transmission hump under the back seat? Is the passenger side under the back seat ok too?

Second question:
I will be running two MTX Thunder 4202 amps, one for the Kappas in the front doors, and another to push a Pioneer flat sub. I will have a 60 amp fuse on the power cable going right into a distribution block. The thing I need to know is do I have to fuse each (2) connection coming out of the block? The MTX's are rated at 30 amps apiece. I was planning on 4-guage power into the block, and then 8-guage power for each amp.

Thanks for any help you all have.

Yes, its fine to mount an amp there.

You dont HAVE to fuse each wire coming out of the dist. block, but I would just as an extra saftey precaution. Can never be to safe. 30A fuses on each 8 gauge wire. Might not even need a 60 on the 4 gauge either.

The 4 gauge into 8 gauge will be good

Thanks Bartak,

The amp I was gunning for in Ebay ended up with someone else.... so I will probably either try again with Ebay, or visit Crutchfield for a cheap MTX. Thanks though, and I think I will follow your advice. Appreciate it man.

Well I got my 2-channel MTX. I won the bidding today on Ebay. All I have to do now is order all of my Brown Bread along with the Pioneer sub and the install will begin. I ordered the wiring kit last week.

This will be a fun project.

Bartak,

What's up man? I got the MTX from FedEx today. I am going to order a box either this week or next week along with the Pioneer sub. I am also about to order some 8-guage fuse holders from Crutchfield.

Just wanted to drop you a thanks. All your advice is much appreciated, and I will do my best to post some pics of my first install. I hope the box from musicmoose is not too hard to put under the rear seat with their lift kit.
