I have a pioneer 7500mp with XM direct. Awesome. I have a Iaudio u2 mp3 player which has a headphone line for recording. I tried getting a rca to headphone cord and connected it to one of my preamp outs to the mp3 player. Now I can record XM radio while drive andtake it into the gym...

It sounds like **** and is totally no volume.. Iknow it needs some sort of amplifier

any help on this? do I just get a headphone or phonograph pre amp from radio shack/ do i need hi or low impedence concerns?

I am thinking of making my own preamp, marketing it as an XM recorder for people to record to their mp3 or pc in the car and then it would be like a cartrax unit!!

good idea?
