Need more midrange at head level

I need some ideas on how to get some mid range speakers up to head level. Although I have good door speakers (eclipse components) I want the voice to sound the same even if someone is sitting in the passenger seat (legs block it). The rear speakers are close to the floor (no help there). I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with their reg cab.

Also, why no stock dash speakers?

Kick panels

No speakers in the dash as the sound reflecting off the windshield can make for some sharp sounding speakers.

What he said. I run the CDT HD 62 set along with the image enhancement pillar tweets and it is in your face.

custom route may be your only real way to go for what you want with sound quality

If you really and I mean REALLY want to go the high difficulty/high payout rate then continue reading. I just finished installing a dual gauge pod that I made a rubber silicone mold of and reversed it so it fit on both sides of the inner pillers. At this point he decided we could take our new found molding skills to a new level and began custom forming a 5 1/4 component shell to fit in each upper rear corner of the cab. These boxes are not light, they are a pain in the a$$ to build, but it sounds beautiful. The end process is. Kenwood screen and processing unit going to two JL 12W6V2 subwoofers and Pioneer 6 X 8 4 way door speakers (best value brand under $90 by far) two upper MB Quart Reference series in the upper corners with the matching tweeters aimed perfectly at the driver and passenger beaded into the gauge pods. If you really want to go about this kind of set up I recommend the dvd sets on custom fiberglassing. And no matter what you THINK you know do not start building of the advanced set. Took me six weeks to get a single thing correct.

The 5 1/4 are in the front corners aimed at opposite sides (i.e. driver side speaker is aimed at passenger and vice-versa) for a better staging effect otherwise you would just get over-powered. If customer/friend will allow to me post pics I will if not I'll begin sketching it. Not to worry I'm at least a third grade sketcher so you'll follow easily.

Tex, gotta see pics of what you are talking about...

Are you mounting these speakers in the roof corners? Using glass?

Well I finally saw your post Frostby sorry about my delay.

I would love to show you photos but have two problems. I don't own the rights to publish (as it was not my idea but my implementation) and secondly that I still have not sat down long enough to figure out how post photos. I will be doing this to my own truck in the very near future (come on, tax refund) and would love to share. If you want to send me your e-mail or tell me how to track someone specifically down in the forums than I'd love to show you. It's a p.i.t.a. but I love it.
