Can anyone out there who has mounted the Pac Swi-x unit in an 04 F150 tell me where you mounted the infrared eye or receiver? I am having a tough time determining where I should have the installer mount this. Thanks in advance.

 

I have the eye mounted just to the left of the floor shifter(in the flow through console), at about the "D" location. I had to drill a small hole all the way through and then on the inside I drilled a slightly larger hole but not all the way through the plastic (took very steady hands). This was necessarey because the eye presses into the the little black ring and locks it in place. I also took glue from a heat gun and sealed it.

I have never had a situation where it has not worked from that location.

 

I tried it right below my Kenwood 7015 on the mounting bezel. In that spot it worked intermittently, especially in bright sun light. I now have it stuck on my Cell phone moounting cradle looking directly into the the IR receiver on the 7015.
