Swap 6CD Changer Question

My 98 Lariat Kingcab came with a 6 CD changer in what would be the drivers side back door. The changer is no longer working properly, causing poping and crackling noises. I would like to change it out for a mp3 changer, is that possible and what brand/model would you suggest.
Thanks

Bigmack, changers need to be cleaned and re-aligned every once in a while. That may take care of your problems. As far as mp3's go, you can go a couple different ways, get a new head unit that plays mp3's or get a newer kenwood deck and hook up there "music-keg" and you'll have 10 or 20 gig's (they have 2 models) of non-skipping tunes for your ride. I'm not sure if you can hook up a mp3 changer to a stock deck, CRUTCHFIELD @ WWW.CRUTCHFIELD.COM or 1-888-474-7339 has cd changers that you can add-on to your factory deck. They may have a mp3 changer for you, just give them a call or search they're site. They do have the Kenwood MUSICKEG so you can read up on that too, if your interested.

woops, hold the phone bigmack... i just found my last crutchfield catalog./spring supplement 2004. they have a sony CDX-565MXRF add-on cd changer that will play mp3's too! (it says through any in-dash fm stereo) for $199.99

Give them a call big mack.
