I removed the ashtray (very easy, just 2 screws) and drilled a hole in the back of it. Remember if you ever sell your truck and want it back to stock the ashtray insert will hide that hole. Anyway, just drill a hole big enough for the plug. Just start with a small hole and work your way up from there. It makes it much easier than trying to start with a big drill bit. I cut a peice of 2x2 wood to fit in the bottom of the ashtray and painted it black so you can't see it. I than used the volcro (sp?) that came with the XM radio to hold the head unit to the wood and put it place. It does not move and it's at the perfect height to be able to close it. I can't take credit for this one though, I got the idea from others here. Good luck.

Question about your speaker install. Where did you end up mounting the crossover's for the front components? I just put the 5 1/4'' Kappa's in and had to put the crossovers underneath the arm rest in the doors, and was wondering if this was the best place or not..

That's where I put mine.
Actually works quite nicely.

Yes, thats the best place. The panel for the window and lock controls just pops off. For those that have not done it yet, take a flat head screw driver and start at the front of the panel, just in case you scatch it, it will be out of site. Lift up and work your way around to the side and it will start to come up. At that point just pull up with you hands and it will just pop off.
Anyway, there is plenty of room in that arm rest for it, and it is the best place because it's on the inside of the moisture barrier and very easy to get to if needed.
