Line convertor users.

Anyone using them with the stock head unit have any problems with either the L or the R side speakers ( both front and back at the same time) going in and out? It does it even when I am parked so I don't think it's a connection and when I go from L to R on the radio balance, it kicks in and out also. Maybe the convertors have messed up something in the head unit. I have one convertor for the front and one on the back, so it can't be one of the m going out. Can't be the amp. That would mean 2 channels are doing the same thing at the same time, not likely. Not sure what esle it could be.

There are 2 distinct possiblities that I can think of.

1. There is an internal problem in your head unit.

2. You have a loose or poorly seated wiring harness connector.

If you don't feel like taking the truck in you can trace the wiring harness into the head unit and disconnect and (firmly) reseat the connection near the head unit. Also you might try the connector going into the head unit too. Since it affects several components the fault is likely to be inside or near the head unit.

Hope that helps. Good luck...

I can't take it in. I'm sure once they see all that I added to the radio they will say I voided to warranty. I will be taking everything down this weekend to see if I can find anything. I will check the factory wiring harness plug that goes into the head unit. I have tapped into it a few times, so I'm hoping it's just a wire in that plug, we'll see. Thanks for the input.

Yikes! I'd guess either the hu or the convertors themselves or the combination of the two. All you can do is troubleshoot it and see what you find. Try putting a speaker parralel to the convertor with it still inline and see if the speaker in your hand will do it at the same time then bail the convertor and see if it still happens. At that point if the covertor is off and it's doing it, it can't be anything the convertor is doing to the hu and leaves you with a messed up HU. I'll tell you what, if you put a aftermarket HU in that thing you will not believe the difference. It is unbelievable that how good that deck sounds now that there is such a thing, but it does and by a bunch! If your convertors are out, you ought to consider a 4 ch Navones.

Good suggestions. I really feel it's in the head unit, but we'll see this weekend.
What is a 4 ch Navones?

I have not heard of those. If it is the converters, I'll look into them. Thanks
