Stock Stereo Problems?
Stock Stereo Problems?
I'm just writing to see if Ford owners are having the same problem I'm having with my Dodge stock stereo?
Basically, the newest technology CD's have been designed to thrawd copying them. But, my DC player doesn't like it at all, and will only play 1 particular track on the disc, and won't allow you to do anything while it plays that track! Really weird to say the least. The dealer originally installed new player for me, but it did the exact same thing. So, they then accused the CD as being the problem, until I told them this was the 2nd same CD I purchased just to make sure it was the disc itself. So, they said they would check with the DC techs to see if they were aware of anything.
Sure enough they were. They essentially said, the problem was common amongst Ford, GM and DC products, and hence they weren't doing anything about it just yet! Kind of s silly, poor service response if you ask me. So I thought I'd put to you Ford owners?
The CD i'm having trouble with in Particular is "Fountains of Wayne" (the guys who play "Stacey's Mom"). Anyone experiencing any weird problems with some of the newer technology CD's with their stock players?
Thanks

I've seen that problem on here before. Your best bet is to copy the music off the cd and burn it. Just see if that works. The record companies are trying to prevent cd's from being copied. All I can say is you just don't sale a product like the cd and not expect it to be hacked after ten years of being in the general public. In the end some of these cds don't work on every cd player and it is only hurts the people who purchase them. BTW Some of those new cds want work on xbox consoles either.
