It's kinda' like the Direct TV satellite TV. However, if you know someone with a US address, you can activate the unit and it will work just fine. I would just prepay a year in advance to help reduce the number of billing cycles you go through...

Smile Sirius

Chose Sirius because of the no-commercial policy. Price difference is insignificant. As of March 1, they completely re-vamped the music selections and I love it. The dropped some of the Latin and Jazz (total of 10 channels) and added more club and rock.

The XM vs Sirius discussions are oh so similiar to PC vs. Mac, Word vs. WordPerfect, Ford vs. Chevy, ad nauseum. I believe what will happen is the convergence of satellite radio with other satetllite info services (data, video, voice).

IMHO

Any purchase of either system contributes to both.

The big benefit is that terrestial radio had better get the message that listeners what better.

Talking Satellite is the ONLY way!

Been a DirecTV customer for 4+ years and a XM customer for the last 9 months. Never again will I listen to AM/FM! XM has great programming options, with 40% of their channels commerical free. What's nice is they directly take the TV feed from CNN, FOX News, ESPN News, etc and broadcast it on XM.

I have the Alpine 7893 XM-Ready HU. Right now, you can get the Alpine XM tuner for around $160 from eBay and some other online retailers.

Highly recommended upgrade!

As for DirecTV, all I can say is NFL Sunday Ticket!

You're really trying to be like me aren't you?

Look at your sig!! It's damn near identical to mine!

But, you're right... it's only been 9 months. I'm on my 3rd quarterly payment.
