cassette player ejects CD car-kit adapter
I bought a Panasonic “walkman” CD player with a car-kit so I could play CDs in my 97 F-150. Problem is, the cassette player keeps ejecting the adapter! Does anyone know how to modify the adapter and “fool” the cassette player so it doesn’t think it’s at the end of a tape all the time?
Thanks,

Mine does the same thing
I have the Sony adapter and I have the same/similar issue. The deck either attempts to rewind the tape (which I believe is the safety feature for tapes that are not completely spooled up) and the other is that the wire that is attached to the cassette portion of the adapter causes it to not "seat" properly. I get mine to work 1) if it's the rewind issue..hit eject and pop it right back in, 2) if it's the eject issue, I usually will feed the cassette whil also keeping enough slack in the wire for it to "pull" itself in completely. This has worked every time.
On another note, I'm not a big cassette user (okay I don't have any)...when are manufacturer's going to make MiniDisc an option on cars?...so much better from an in-dash perspective over both tape and CD, and I'd couple the MD with a CD changer in the glove box or center console.

Weird...
They make a little adapter that actually broadcasts the signal output from your CD player to FM so that you can pick it up on 83.3 or something...
I have one and used it in my old Geo Prizm (yes, I once owned a Geo in college) and it worked great.
It might be that your cassette player doesn't like the taste of that adapter...hehehe

The other day I was in Circuit City getting an Alpine 7892 HU & a MP3 CD changer for a friend's car. While I was waiting, I noticed they had a Sony HU that had a MiniDisc player built in to it, right on the front.
Didn't spend any time looking at it, but it might be worth a visit to sony.com to investigate.
