I had one for about three years. Sold it for $150 and bought a Retrax roll-up cover so I could put something taller than the bed height in my truck.
Also sold a bed liner for $50 and replaced it with a Bedrug.

I just ordered a *******’s X-2000 Tonneau for my Lightning. It will be installed tomorrow morning. Snuglids are readily available here in CA but I went with *******’s because of their trick clamp on hinge system on the X-2000. I also like the way it has “ears” at the front where it meets the bulkhead that mold around the sides of the cab. The X-2000 is widely considered the “top of the line” of lids. Their traditional lids are the same as the X-2000 but with standard drill in mounting. After I have it installed, I will repost about how I like it. TP.

Angry

Went this morning to have my tonneau installed and there was a blemish in the paint so I rejected it. For close to $1000 I want it perfect. Oh well, another week or so. TP.

Nikko, I second what T.P. said. I did the istall myself ( with the help of my better half) and it wasn't too bad. The directions are sh**, but we figured it out. The product is top notch as it should be for the price. Mine was perfect Hope this helps.

My01Bolt-
How would you rate the paint quality on your lid? Mine is white so it probably shows fewer defects than yours in black. There was an area that had too much paint so it caked/dripped, and another area where there was no paint with bare fiberglass showing. They were very small defects, but considering how much this lid costs, and that it is going on a $30k truck, I rejected it. I am also concerned about that negative comment on the Lightning board about *******’s. T.P.

T.P The paint is perfect....no flaws whatsoever. The product is top notch in my opinion. As it should be for the $$$$$$ If mine was not perfect I would have sent it back also. Don't settle...this is alot of money. As for the negative comment, there will be some who have bad experiences with any product. Hope this helps.

I paid $875 + tax installed. This is for the X-2000.
Includes:
under lid carpet
pull strap
battery operated dome light
X-2000 hinge system
trimless edge
color matched paint
Their traditional lids are about $200 less.

Where did you get your ******* x-2000 from? I had contacted ******* directly and they quoted me $1000 for it. I thought that was a bit expensive, especially since it was direct from the manufacturer. But, I guess that is how it usually works. The distributors give the discounts because they buy the large quantities.

dude its more money if your truck isn't blk. If you have a blk truck they dont paint it. It comes in a blk gel. I just got mine installed and i love it. It lookes nice. I put a bed rug in. I wanna put carpet on the cover itself now to. Do you know if they sell a kit?
