What intake is the best?

Im looking into getting a new new intake. I can't decide between K&N FIPK or Airforce One. So I would like to know if you could feel any difference after the install power wise.

Thanks,
mozy

Mozy-
You may want to look into a Volant Cool Air Intake. That is what I installed on my F150. I liked my engine pulling in cool outside air.
See my signature for the website. I purchased mine from JCWhitney.

Just something else for you to think about.

Air Force 1

Here is another vote fore the Air Force 1! I went by 4WP (I hate the quotes they ahve given me but they have stuff out on the shelf that I can check out), and looked at the K&N Gen II and the Airaid and decided to go with the Air Force 1 (which 4WP does not carry nor has ever heard of).

Anyway can't beat that polished stainless tube!

Yeah, I know, I am attracted to shiny things...

Air force 1

The air force 1 is by far the best for the money. I order a K&N and did not like it. The AF1 quality is far better and easy to install.

OK...get this guys!

I live in Western Canada (Alberta) and have been trying to search out this Volant Fresh Air Kit....guess what I just discovered!

There is ONLY ONE distributor here in all of Canada that handles this product and they have yet to even recieve any inventory from Volant (no stock, no prices, no information about this product)....oh ya I forgot to mention one more thing....this Volant distributor is a freak'n GMC dealership!!!

What to do?

Max Mitchell....out of the three test you refer to, which one came out on top as the best overall intake?

Was there an overall winner?

The Volant made 2 rwhp, the Airaid made an average of 2 rwhp with a peak of 2.5, and the K&N made an average of 5 rwhp with a peak of 7.5. The link shows pics, dyno test results, and general opinions; did you see it?

Max...appreciate your comments and feddback!

looks like K&N FIPK is the way to go listening to the general opinions and dyno tests.

You are happy with your K&N FIPK intake aren't you?

BLEWIS does not seem to happy with the set up that K&N provides.....decisions decisions!

2001-

You're Welcome !! Everyone has a personal preference. I've used K&N products for decades. They invented the gauze filter, set the standard for CARB certifying these intakes, utilize a flow engineered plastic elbow to increase airflow and reduce heat soak, and back their products up by sending free replacement parts. I'm perfectly happy going on 2 years with this one and no complaints.

Angry

I just got a call from the ONLY distributor of Volant products in Canada. He was calling me back with a price on the complete kit that Volant advertises as part #19854 to fit the 4.6L/5.4L....$659.00(Canadian) he tells me.

I told him to keep his over priced fresh air Volant products...holly cow, I just about had a heart attack and fell off my chair when he quoted me that price, he said that retail on this filter assembly was $728.00 (Canadian).

The K&N stock replacement filter for $70.00 (Canadian) is looking better all the time.
