im haveing a problem and i hope someone can help me i have an 85 f150 straight 6 4.9L. when i turn the key over to start the truck it trys to start the when i turn the key off it continues to try to start so i have to disconnect the posative cable to the battery and then when i put it back on the posative cable sparks and continues to try and start and the whole time the key is off and in my pocket i have no idea what it is. i just bought a brand new starter, relay coil, battery, and ignition switch. i am truelly lost all cabels were put back the way they came off and its been down for 3 months im going crazy lol please some one help

 

It sounds like your starter solenoid is stuck shut.
