cheapest efans kit or not?

what is the cheapest a guy can set up an effecient efan setup, guy at auto store was trying to sell me a 1300 cfm 16 or 18 inch fan i believe an a 30 dollar controller whats the best setup to go with considering cost effectiveness? i do not tow and already have u/d pulleys, edge, cai so far, not really looking to re gear yet or get an exhaust just like the fact efans get rid of the old clutch fan and give a lil oomph but most importantly gas mileage as well, would a 1300 cfm fan provide enuff cooling or what?

Hello there! How are you today? I'm fine, thanks. I will try to answer your questions in as non-abrasive a manner as is possible for my humbled, ignant, old self. As you know there is a zero-tolerance policy for manifestations of frictional behaviour in effect on this site and I am striving to comply 110%. So please help me conform. Thanks. I really appreciate it.

Please, if you will, read through this thread (including all the embedded links) - I believe it will answer most of your questions. If not, I and others will try to accomodate those that may remain.

No, I am sorry to say, 1300 cfm is not anywhere near enough. The Mark VIII solution, as well as an LS1 GM fan assembly, for example ( you can ask Fatherford a member here for more info on this) plus a quality controller would be much better.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Tanks & cheers!

You won't find a mark VIII fan at Autozone. You will have to find one at the wreckers or the dealer. The dealer will be expensive.

if i can get a mark VIII fan for around 50 bucks what else do i need actually i wanna use one of those and im looking at cost effectiveness, i dont care what kind of controller i can get just sumthin that will hook up and turn on for ac, plus when engine temps need it, if someone has a recipe per say to follow with a lincoln mark VIII fan kit i can piece together id absolutely love it, i just cant see in paying for those high priced kits.. i mean high 400's to 500 for a fan kit i think thats ridiculous, but hey if u got one of those kits im not knocking it a bit, i just cant afford it thats all i am saying.. so again im def not bashing u for buyin one of those i just dont have that cash to throw around i can see maybe 200 to 300 in a working fan set up though, but again cheap as i can get by with keeps more green backs in my pocket.. as long as i can retain no switches on the inside i hate things not looking factory..

Hah a Corolla needs more than 1500 cfm. At a minimum you need 3,500CFM. I 'm pushing close to 5,000 cfm.

When I was doing some searching on these a while back I heard a lot of good things from these guys.. Give them a call or do a serach on them and you will find some good info

A controller is no where to skimp on price from what I've heard... It can cause fires, malfunction or something else.. but check these guys out, maybe give them a call or do a search on here for them

DC Controlers

Hayden makes good controllers. I've had mine for 2+ years with no problems. $38 at AdvancedAuto

I highly recommend the 17.99 controller from AutoZone, ive used it on all my customer's trucks, and has been on my truck for 3 years, and survived a direct front end impact

Thinking about either the dc controls fp50 or patmans controller. Is that all I'm going to need is a fan and a good controller? Of course ill have to fab some mounting with some aluminum stock bars, I'd love to see and get a lil info on fan mounting location. Hey patman 1 question the controller u were talking about is it pretty simple hookup and does it have provision for ac turn on? U also wouldn't happen to know part number as well? Thanks a million guys, with the money saved maybe I could swing a decent lil catback dual system. Thanks again!

i should know the part number because ive purchase about 6 of them over the years

no AC hook up, its temp sensitive only. I prefer no AC hookup because there are times you want the AC on and the fan off.

i have manual switches as primary, and the temp controller for secondary. You only need the fans at low speed 0-30. So when im low speeds and AC i turn both fans on, and then turn them off as i pick up speed.
