Aftermarket MAF sensor or not?

i've heard you don't really get all the hp you can out of your cold air intake unless you get an aftermarket MAF(Mass Air Flow) sensor is this true? also these things clame to increase airflow up to 45%... has anyone installed any of the aftermarket MAF and knowticed anything?

My throttle response was a little better, but my CAI was working a little more smoothly if that makes sense.

the only time you will ever need a larger maf is if your adding boost. The factory maf will flow all the air your engine can possibly suck...in the 04+ trucks the maf sensor itself will never need changing even with boost, the intake or maf HOUSING size is what controlls the speed of the air over the maf. The larger the housing the slower the air moves across the maf.

from what ive heard, aftermarket MAFs are quite a big waste of money when you compare it to the gains. sure, if you have the money to spend and want a slight increase in performance, buy one. but overall, there are much better places to spend your money on your truck.

The stock unit works perfect on an even modded truck... Don't waste your money.
