problem w/ new e-fan install

I just installed v2- 16" pro-comp e-fans w/ Troyer controls. When I run the low temp fan (also the fan that kicks on when ac is on) by itself and turn on the ac it performs perfect, but when I hooked up the high temp fan and then turned on the ac the ac clutch fan starts to bunp and makes an awful sound. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Also I have some pics of install and my custom bracket that I'll post if I can figure out how to do that. Thanks Pat

You have the wrong fan hooked to the ac you are supposed to have the high temp fan hooked to the ac and it sounds like you might have spliced both fans into the grey and white pcm wire did you splice both green wires into that grey wire? If not you still need to switch the fan connected to the ac anyways read your instructions it should be the high temp fan with the ac on

well, I had time to check out my fans today and I misspoke
in my original post. I do have thehi-temp fan hooked up to the a/c so in double checking all wiring I found it all correct. Moved on to voltage. All good there. Then checked for loose parts and found that the nut which holds fan blades to motor had come completely off putting motor in a slight bind. I took it off and put on some loctite and a new nut and is now working perfecly again. I will try and post some pictures of my set-up. I really wanted the troyer fan set-up but me being the guy to prove I can build this myself took over. I think I did a pretty good job, and alsowas able to do this for right at $240.00. ($80.00 for fans, $120.00 for controlers, $40.00 for custom aluminum brackets and s/s bolts)

Hehe, try:

$45/$45 (dual 16" S-blades)
$50 controller
$15 brackets

all been running 4 months now not a problem

I wouldn't want to be driving with one controller with dual 16 inch fans. You're maxing out the duty cycle of the relay and just asking for trouble, plus at initial power up of the fans momentarily beyond the amperge rating of the positive wire on the controller. Sometimes it can melt the fuse holder and the wiring insulation without blowing the fuse (I've seen it happen). Hate to hear about an electrical fire under your hood. Its why pretty much everyone uses either a high end controller (Spal, DC Controls, etc.) or dual "cheap" controllers. Ultimately.... I've found that going cheap doesn't pay off. Get the extra controller, you spent thousands on the truck afterall.
